here is my story
I began my medical career in 1985 as a Family Physician. As a Family Physician, I have always sought to provide not only treatment for specific disease states but also to work toward prevention of disease. Too often, in modern medicine, prevention refers merely to screening for already existing disease. By gaining control of obesity and adopting the Habits of Health, we can move toward changes which may actually prevent or delay the onset of many disease states. My personal story involes being a dedicated athlete and yet over the years, seeing 25 unwanted pounds creep on in places they weren't welcome. Despite exercise, they just seemed not to go away. By using the Take Shape for Life program and adopting the Habits of Health I have now been at ideal weight since June of 2007. I continue to be very athletic and with my health and energy can out ski and out hike many people in their 20's. Feels great to say that as a man in his mid 50's! Because of my success as a Health Coach and my passion for helping others achieve optimal health, I left the active practice of medicine in July of 2010. I am now devoting my full efforts to sharing in the mission to get America healthy. At the same time, I am truely enjoying what I do without the hassles of modern medicine. I believe I am having far greater impact on the health and well being of my clients than ever before. I am also having the time to pursue time with my family, ski on uncrowded days and follow my passion for climbing in the mountains of Colorado.
